Full Day Tours

East Upolu & Aleipata District (Faofao Beach)

Start your day with the beautiful scenic drive along the North East coast of Upolu stopping at Falefa falls and passing through the Le Mafa Pass (1700ft above sea level). This is a breathtaking view of the east and south coastlines. The drive is through lush green forests, waterfalls, plantations and traditional Samoan villages.

A stop at the “Sopo’aga Falls” and & a small botanical garden is where you will learn from our guides the uses of local plants both for medicinal (traditional healing) and cooking purposes. A demonstration of how our “coconut cream” is prepared.

Swimming and snorkeling (bring your own gear) is at Faofao Beach where an option of a BBQ or plate lunch is served. The return trip is via the South West road and a short photo stop will at the “Papapapaiuta Fall” where it drops into an old volcanic crater. You will see fantastic views of Apia township as you descend towards town and back to your hotel.

Sinalei Reef Resort “Fiafia Tour”

The tour passes the former home of famous Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, the Bahai Temple and various plantations via the Afiamalu pass. A short photo stop will be at the “Papapapaiuta Fall” where it drops into an old volcanic crater. The tour continues through the south-west along coastline villages and ecology.

On arrival at the beautiful Sinalei Reef Resort, you can swim at the beach, sunbathe or just relax in the warm sun.Our buffet lunch is a selection of foods cooked in the “umu” (our traditional oven), assorted European and Asian menu. There is entertainment of traditional singing and dancing whilst passengers enjoy their meal.

We continue our tour back to Apia via a new inland road that runs through lush villages, rainforests and plantations. This road connects to the airport road which author James Mitchner quoted as being “the most beautiful drive in the South Pacific”.

Lefaga Village and Matareva Beach

This tour visits the legendry "Bali Hai" an hour's drive to the west of Apia and 20 minutes by boat. The boat leaves from Cape Lefatu on Upolu Island for Manono Island, with views of the crater island of Apolima on the way. Once reaching Manono, we will be greeted by our Samoan host family for a brief lecture on Samoan customs and etiquette. We will also walk through the backyard to see what is typically grown in a Samoan garden. We will show how coconut cream is made and the various uses of the coconut. The boat will then leave for a beach where lunch will be served and you can enjoy swimming. This tour is recommended for those that are interested in Samoan culture and way of life.

Lefaga Village and Matareva Beach

This tour takes you to the South-West Coast of Upolu. Lefaga village and Matareva Beach was the location for the movie “return to paradise” starring Gary Cooper in the early 1950s. Its what the visitor dreams the South Pacific to be – its turquoise blue sea, white sands and black lava rocks. It is ideal for swimming and snorkeling (bring your own gear), or just relaxing and lazing in the sun. The route to the beach is via the main cross-island road stopping at “Papapapaiuta Falls” for a short photo session. Lunch and drinks are served at Matareva Beach before heading back to Apia via north and east coastal road with 20 minutes allowance for photos.

Half Day Tours

Tour of Southwest Upolu

Experience a scenic drive through the lush tropical rain forests of Cross Island Road and along the South West coast's beautiful villages. See locals doing their daily activities; men working in the plantations, paddling canoes to fish, women weaving mats and children playing. Swim at a “surprise” beach and return to Apia via a new inland road that runs through lush rainforests and plantations. This road connects to the airport road which author James Mitchner quoted as being “the most beautiful drive in the South Pacific”.

Island Highlights

This half day tour covers Mulinuu ; the Sacred Burial Grounds of the Paramount Chiefs of Samoa, Parliament House, Independence Memorial, Lands and Titles Court and the German Memorial where the first German flag was raised in late1800s. Following Mulniuu, we head inland to see the venue for the recent South Pacific Games. The Tuanaimato Sports complex, Olympic sized Aquatic Centre and Faleata Golf course.

We will also drive through the Alafua Campus of the University of the South Pacific to view various agricultural developments. The Moamoa Catholic Cathedral is our next stop to admire the beautiful stained glass windows of this late nineteenth century church.

The last stop is the former home of the famous Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, now a Museum. The visit is conducted by museum staff and provides an interesting insight to the life of Robert Louis Stevenson.  We will have an entertainment group to perform the graceful “siva”, energetic male dancers performing “war” dances to the rhythm of the drums and the pulsating Fire knife dance.  Our refreshment is served at the Museum patio.  The gardens and grounds of the museum are well kept and include an array of local plants and beautiful flowers.

Coastal Villages, Falefa Falls & Tropical Gardens

This half day tour is along the north east coast of Upolu and it takes in traditional villages nestling along the Coastline where times have changed slightly over the decades. A stop is made at natures “plum Pudding Rock” for photos before continuing on to Falefa Falls and Estuary. This was a trading post for beach whalers and locals in the early 1800s.

On our return, the last stop is at Gina’s tropical haven where an abundance of tropical flowers, variety of bird of paradise, heliconia, antheriums, ginger flowers & spice, frangipani in different colours and sizes...to name a few.  We serve our refreshments of tropical fruits & bottled water, coconut or fresh lemon juice in this quiet, relaxed and pleasant surroundings.  The wharf is 5 minutes away from the gardens

Shopping (Markets) and Garden Tour

Tour starts at the Samoan Flea Market where a variety of handicrafts and local curios are sold. This is where you get a bargain at a set price. Our next stop is at Gina’s Tropical Gardens where an abundance of tropical flowers, variety of bird of paradise, heliconia, antheriums, ginger flowers & spice, frangipani in different colours and sizes to name a few.  We serve our refreshments of tropical fruits & bottled water, coconut or fresh lemon juice in this quiet and relaxed pleasant surroundings.

“Pacific Jewel” is Samoa’s newest contemporary gift shop and Fine Arts with a definite “up market”  selection of hand painted, shelled, coconut gift items and many more originals from this talented artist.  The Fresh Produce Market where farmers sell fresh fruits, vegetables, taro, bananas, kava and more traditional handicrafts. To sum it up... a place most interesting for sights, smells and sounds.
